Hi all!
Since Eero was the first router to work with Homekit, I tried to test it with Eero Secure enabled.
Interesting note - when you have activated Homekit Secure Router, Eero Secure stops seeing and scanning applications from Homekit devices connected to Eero.
Does anyone have a good explanation for this? I receive requests from outside that can only pass through the hub and then be transmitted to local devices, but things like Ecobee still extract weather data and similar information and I doubt that outbound requests are also transmitted by the hub.
We tried to search the Internet, but there is no good explanation so far.
Does anyone know why this works?
