Hello everyone. Had a great scare tonight when I returned home with both the dog door and the fence gate open. Apparently I left the gate by accident when I left. Fortunately, the sleepy puppy was still asleep on the couch.
To prevent this from happening again, I would like to put a contact sensor on the gate with an automation that will alert me if I stay open after leaving the house. Has anyone done something similar? Any recommendations for basic contact sensors that work reliably with HomeKit and possibly last outdoors?
