Finally, the MyQ Home Bridge worked with a Wi-Fi-enabled garage door opener.

Cupertino, July 8, 2021

I chose MyQ Home Bridge a few weeks ago to get the HomeKit capability for the WiQ Fi enabled MyQ garage door. After many struggles, I managed to connect Home Bridge to the MyQ application using the instructions from [this link](https://support.chamberlaingroup.com/s/article/How-to-Set-up-a-myQ-Home-Bridge-and-Transfer-Devices-from-a-myQ-Smart-Garage-Hub-or -myQ-Garage) (using the "Connecting to WiFi with Apple" section of these instructions). However, the instructions at the bottom of the page for adding the garage door to the Home Bridge didn't work - if the garage door wasn't already added to my app, then it couldn't be found by adding a device to the hub, but if I did the garage door to the application, would create its own hub and would not transfer. Eventually I had the chance to call on Chamberlain for help and the person there was actually very helpful. The fix for transferring the door to Home Bridge was as follows (note that this is for MyQ openers with WiFi - when I started the process, both Home Bridge and the garage door were both displayed as hubs in the "Device Management" section of MyQ application): 1. Find the black adjustment knob on the garage door opener (not the wall switch) between the up and down arrow. It should be lit in green. 2. Press and hold the black adjustment knob until you hear three consecutive beeps (approximately 10 seconds). The light on the button should go out. 3. Press and release the # 1 button on the Home Bridge (the middle one) twice. All three lights on the Home Bridge should be lit. 4. Press and release the yellow "Learn" button on the garage door opener. 5. Wait 1-2 minutes for the devices to complete the transfer. The garage door opener should now be available in your Apple Home app. All the other instruction sets I could find anywhere else didn't include the "press and hold the black adjustment button" step, so I thought I'd share it here for people facing the same problem.
