Fire TV has launched new features today, including a new Smart Home dashboard, Alexa Shortcut Panel and Alexa Home Theater. Updates are coming to Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Omni Series and Fire TV 4-Series and will continue to be released in the coming weeks.

Here are the new features and what to look for, from Amazon:

• The new Smart Home dashboard: You can now view and control connected devices throughout your home. Just say "Alexa, show me the dashboard for my smart home" and Fire TV will show all the smart lights, sockets, and switches you've connected, which you can check (on / off) and control with remote control. A new line is especially dedicated to smart cameras, about which you can view streams. You can also check your favorite smart devices from the Alexa companion application. Support for smart home groups and thermostats will be added early next year.
• Alexa shortcut panel: With the remote control, a simple push of the Alexa button will now slide a shortcut panel at the bottom of the screen for quick access to your smart home, weather, news and video library controls. Alexa Shortcut Panel will be widely available on Fire TV devices in the United States.
• Alexa Home Theater for Fire TV Omni Series, Fire TV 4-Series and 4K Fire TV Stick 4K Max: Connect wireless Echo speakers such as Echo Studio for Dolby Atmos audio or other smart Echo speakers for captivating sound. With Fire TV Omni Series and 4-Series TVs, sound will be streamed to Fire TV and any connected compatible device, including cable decoders, game consoles, and antenna sources. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max can now do the same thing as long as it's connected to the TV's HDMI eARC port, which means you can stream audio to Echo speakers, even when you're enjoying content on inputs other than Fire TV. • Airplay 2 and HomeKit on Omni Series and 4-Series Fire TVs: Fire TV Omni Series and 4-Series users can stream, share, and control content from iPhone, iPad, and Mac directly to Fire TV, including videos, photos, music, or podcasts. HomeKit allows you to use Siri for TV controls, such as turning on / off or changing the volume.
• Video Zoom for Fire TV Omni Series (coming soon): In the coming weeks, you'll be able to place and receive Zoom appointments from the largest screen in your home. After downloading the Zoom app via Fire TV, simply connect a 720p-1080p compatible webcam to the USB port and say "Alexa, find Zoom ”. Once everything is set up, join a meeting using the remote control or simply say "Alexa, join my Zoom meeting".
