Google at Apple home

Cupertino, February 20, 2024

I currently use Google as my "smart" home platform started a few years ago when I wanted to set up a mesh wifi network and at face value Google seemed like a good/best option at the time, I had 3 points access and another bad connection so then I got the google nest router and bridge for a total of 5 points and that gave me a good connection (for context I live in a bigger house with my family and the router and connections to internet I'm on the first floor and I live on the 3rd floor on the opposite side of the building) Over time I've started adding some lights and a few things here and there that work with Google, but I have a lot of Apple devices and I find that my it seems like a cleaner use for automations and a smart home environment. I don't want to go through the headache of starting all over with Apple but I came across a device (starling home hub) that can sync Google with Apple lol but I still need a home bridge and don't know what to get or where to start given my current situation and devices. I recently canceled all my streaming services and got an Android TV if I ever decide to watch anything. So if the tv has other smart home stuff that is beneficial it makes sense to get it but idk My room is a bedroom my wfh office and entertainment area so I have a lot of devices and "crap" including 2 points wifi, free amazon. Alexa speakers. And a bunch of other devices. It's very busy, but if/when I move I want the setup to be expanded without starting from scratch. Will the Starling Home hub connect to my current Google WiFi router? Is this even the best way for me to start? Which Apple device should I buy as a hub (HomePod, HomePod mini from Apple TV)? If I have devices that work with Google and Amazon with it, does it work with Apple? Any general recommendations? Sorry for so many details, but I want to help describe my use case for the best possible advice
