Has anyone found a way to turn off the sidebar on the iPad?

Cupertino, September 20, 2020

I have an iPad on the wall dedicated to my home theater, with HomeKit as a remote control for the entire room. I hope I'm missing something and I can't figure it out. I searched like crazy. It's awful, it takes up 1/3 of the screen. I watched videos praising him for how easy it is to move from room to room. Who sits on the couch and turns things on and off in different rooms often enough to need quick access to all the rooms? Apple is all about aesthetics and this damn bar broke it. I don't care what happens in the rest of the house on the iPad.

Not to mention, if I'm not just an idiot, from a business point of view, Apple has opened up a huge stream of revenue in the home automation space, reducing iPad prices and actually making HomeKit quite useful. In fact, it’s in the realm of the possibility for more than the super-rich to install an iPad on the wall of a room to control that room, and then, to my choice, the damn sidebar shut down the revenue stream.

Maybe that's more than a question, because I've spent the last 5 months, thousands of dollars, now I have my hand bandaged and unusable from an accident that tried to renovate my home theater and then one of the things I do. -I thought it was completely finished and I was happy with being destroyed by hitting the update now.
