I need a wifi extender because my smart lock on the side door sometimes doesn't respond due to the weak signal. I hope to install a wifi extender or wifi repeater next to that part of the house.
The problem I have with getting a wifi extender is that it creates its own network, which requires devices to connect to "MyInternet-EXT", for example. I can't imagine AppleTV or the accessories being very receptive to this. The alternative would be to buy a wifi repeater, but I heard that they are not very effective.
Has anyone tried / tested a way to expand the wifi range?
