Having major HomeKit issues in 14.2

Cupertino, November 3, 2020

when it was first released, I installed tvOS 14.2 pb1 on the Apple TV, which acts as my home hub. I immediately noticed that my HomeKit cameras were not working from the control center. I thought it would be fixed in future beta versions. I also updated my iPad to 14.2 pb1 shortly and noticed that all my HomeKit accessories were displayed as "Update" and that the status never changed. I mostly used my iPhone to control the accessories, so I wasn't too worried about that.

When I updated my iPhone to 14.2 RC, I noticed the same thing: all the accessories are listed as updated and the cameras don't work. I can still control my hue lights with the hue app, see Eufy cameras with the Eufy app, etc., so I don't think it's a network issue, it just seems to be HomeKit specific.

My wife has an iPhone 11 that is still on 14.1 and works well, but yesterday I activated her iPhone 12 (also on 14.1), and the Home application is only on the "Charging accessories" screen.

It seems that there was a corruption of a central location through which all these devices go to talk to HomeKit accessories (iCloud?). looking for tips on how to solve it. I read about deleting my house and setting it up again, but that seems to be the last resort
