Hearing thermostat temperature when away

Cupertino, March 23, 2024

I just can't figure this out in a way that works in HomeKit. I have Netatmo smart thermostat and smart thermostatic valves. It works great for managing the radiator and heating temperatures in all my rooms separately, as I set it up to heat each room independently rather than being limited by the thermostat down the hall. And while my wife and I work from home, I've made extensive use of the program on the Netatmo app, so the heater doesn't come on in the kids' rooms when I'm at school, etc... However, when the family leaves the house, it doesn't set automatically remotely, I have to do it manually in the Netatmo app. So I ended up setting up an automation in HomeKit and I can't seem to set a departure mode, I have to set the temperature on each valve as part of that automation. No problem, I can do that, but the valves determine that this is a manual control and the program starts at the next timed change, so it is not suitable as a departure mode. My question then is, is it even possible to use the family's Apple devices to determine when no one is home and adjust the temperature accordingly, while keeping the Netatmo program? Or do I basically have to recreate the program entirely in HomeKit and throw in Netatmo as some kind of control? What have others done with their heating systems? Bonus points for Netatmo users... Cheers
