Help setting up an automation in the Home app using Aqara leak sensors?

Cupertino, January 16, 2024

Hi All, ***TL;DR Version:*** How do I set up an automation involving Aqara water leak sensors? They don't seem to appear when creating a sensor automation in the Home app... ***Long version:*** Not sure if this is a HomeKit question and/or a Hubitat question, but I thought I'd try here first as hopefully there are many here who have already done what i plan to do. Anyway, I'm getting ready to install a Bulldog water valve controller that I bought on Black Friday. A few prefaces before I ask my main question, just to hopefully give more clarity: * I bought the Z-wave Bulldog version as opposed to the Wifi version, [as recommended when I asked about this in the past](https://www.homekit.blog.com/r/homebridge/comments/14w4coy/which_econet_bulldog_valve_robot_works_with/). * I also purchased a Hubitat and added the added HomeKit integration, again as recommended; I haven't installed anything yet, but when I do, I'll configure the Bulldog to show up in Homekit. * I purchased a bunch of Aqara water leak detectors, along with an E1 hub, and spread them around the house; As a result, they exist in both Homekit and the Aqara app. My plan is to create an automation - ideally in the Home app - so that when the Aqara sensors are activated, it will engage the Bulldog Water valve and turn off the water to my house. We did some training to see what it would entail to create such an automation; when I select the "A sensor detects something" option, none of the Aqara sensors are listed. How then do I create an automation using them? The limited amount of research (basically looking at a response to my original post, linked above) that I've been able to do on this mentions the Eve app as a helper/supplement to do this, and the Aqara sensors do actually appear in that app when you create an automation there; is this the only way i have to go (ie i don't use the home app at all?)? Not having an automation set up in the Eve app, does it appear as an automation in Home? Thank you for your patience in reading all of this...basically confused how to get this to work and wondering if I've messed things up somehow? Thanks :)
