Hey! New to HomeKit and I just learned about Starling Home Hub - I'd really appreciate feedback if I can do what I want with Starling

Cupertino, January 21, 2022

** Background: ** My wife and I both have iPhones and Macs, but we have a lot of Nest products. We currently have two Nest thermostats, three Nest temperature sensors, five Nest speakers (three new, one old, one mini) and a new Nest room that we use as a baby monitor. I've never used Apple's HomeKit for anything, but I just found out about the Starling Home Hub after looking to see if I could get AirPlay / Audm podcasts to our Nest speakers. It's also a good idea to have everything in one place - Google Home doesn't support Nest temperature sensors, and the old Nest doesn't support the new Nest camera. So now we have to use every app for something different, and I still can't stream AirPlay podcasts. My question is - will HomeLink be able to replace all the functionality of these other two applications if we buy Starling? For thermostats, I would like to be able to open the HomeKit and see the temperatures (both thermostats and sensors), adjust the temperatures, change which sensor the thermostat adjustments are based on, and ideally change the thermostat program (though not don't do this often, so it's not a business). For speakers, I'd love to be able to create speaker groups (but that's not crucial) and AirPlay sound from Overcast and Audm to Nest speakers. And for the camera, I just want to open HomeKit and watch the video stream and turn the camera on / off. I know these are probably basic uses for the HomeKit application. We don't know how to automate or talk to Siri or anything, but if I can do the above, Starling would definitely be worth it to us. Thanks!
