Since HKSV existed, Mac Mini (Intel or M1) could not stream HKSV cameras / ringtones unless you connect a USB audio input device of some kind. I've tried to report this to Apple a few times, but the problem persisted * forever *. I solved it by buying a cheap audio dongle from Amazon and connecting it. I'm sure this is because the Mini doesn't have a built-in microphone, so the attempt to set up the talk-back sound fails. The fact that Apple has left so much spoiled is amazing.
