Holiday lights lose their color setting when controlled through a HomeKit scene

Cupertino, January 7, 2024

Hi, This is the first year I have twinkly holiday lights. I had no problems setting it up in HomeKit or controlling the basics via Siri/voice. I know you can't change advanced effects through HomeKit, but it keeps the last used one in memory, which is fine. By voice, I can turn the lights on/off and dim or brighten them, keeping the same colors that are set up in the Twinkly app. However, when I try to control the exact same settings via an automation scene in HomeKit, HK will not retain the last setting (color/effects) as it does via Siri/voice. It always changes color too. How do I make just the scene turn the lights on/off or control the brightness? I must be doing something wrong, but I've tried over and over and can't figure out what's wrong. I really want to be able to include the lights in the Home scenes - that's one of the main reasons I got them. Since it works via Siri/voice, clearly the system can manage to keep the last color/effect used in memory and simply turn it on/off/or change the brightness. How do I set it up in a scene without it also forcing a color change (and it can only do single colors in HomeKit, as everyone knows)? Any information would be very helpful. Thank you in advance!
