Home accessories are not responsible for guests when they are outside the local network

Cupertino, March 13, 2020

Hello everyone

I recently created a "smart home" for my parents, with a Netatmo outdoor room and a few Philips Hue lights. Everything ** works ** in the Home for me and my parents app, which are added to the house as guests.

This is where it gets tricky: when we leave the house and go to work, only I can see the camera feed and I can turn the lights on / off. My parents receive a "* ... who does not respond *" message while trying. ** Only on the local local network **, they can access the accessories. I myself have no problem accessing them through 4G or other networks.

We have an Apple TV 4K created as a hub to access everything remotely, which works for me, but they don't seem to solve their problem. Of course, it is important for them to be able to see the feed and control the lights, because it is their home.

** My specifications: **

* Apple TV 4K (running TVOS 13.3.1)
* iPhone X (NQAF2ZD / A running iOS 13.3.1) -> my phone that works offline
* iPhone 11 (running iOS 13.3.1) -> father's phone that only connects to the local network
* iPhone 8 (running iOS 13.3.1) -> mother's phone that only connects to the local network

Something I have already checked with Apple is that the mobile data switch is enabled for "Home" in the network settings. Sim change did not work, because the problem persists on foreign WiFi networks.

Has anyone experienced the same problem and knows how to solve it?

Thanks in advance for the help!
