Home Automation (Homekit vs Homey vs Home Assistant)

Cupertino, January 17, 2024

I have some semi-complicated nested if/then statements in homekit, and I feel that the more complex it is, the more likely the automation will fail. I was thinking of switching to Homey Pro or Home Assistant and then switching to homekit. Use homekit for UI and Siri and then Homey/Home Assistant for automations. But I have a few questions. 1. Has anyone else had issues with Homekit struggling with more involved automations? 2. Has anyone had more success with Homey or Home Assistant? 3. I know Home Assistant is pretty technical. How deep into the code do I need to go for it to be stable and useful? 4. How well does Homey/Home Assistant play with Homekit?
