Occasionally, MacRumors videographer Dan gathers some of his favorite homemade products he uses. We have another edition of our HomeKit series, this time with devices from Lutron, Belkin, Sonos and many more.
You can see everything in action in the video and we have links and a short description for the HomeKit products below.
- Lutron Box switches ($ 195 for a set) - It can be expensive to replace light bulbs for all the lighting in your home, but with the Cassette smart light switch and the Lutron light switch, you can connect your home to omeHomeKit with minimal effort. You need a deck for Cassette devices, so it's best to buy them in a kit if you're replacing more than one light switch.
- Lutron Serena Smart Shades (600 USD) - Although not cheap, if you want a HomeKit house, Lutron produces a series of smart Serena shadows that can be controlled using HomeKit. You will have to pay somewhere around $ 600 per window, so this is an expensive home improvement.
- Wemo Stage Scene Controller ($ 50) - The multi-button Wemo Stage Scene controller can be used to control any KHomeKit accessory with its assignable buttons.
- Hunter ceiling fan ($ 180) - HomeKit-compatible ceiling fans from Hunter are surprisingly affordable and can be controlled with Siri, making it a useful addition for the smart home. Prices start at $ 180 for Aerodyne, but higher models are also available.
- Sonos Beam soundbar - ($ 449) Sonos recently launched the second-generation Beam, which is designed to work with a TV. It is enabled for AirPlay 2, so it appears in the Home application and can be used with other AirPlay 2 speakers, such as HomePod.
- HomePod mini ($ 99) - A mini HomePod is an essential component of a omeHomeKit configuration because it can serve as a Home Hub, work with Thread devices and accept Siri commands. Apple has just launched HomePod mini in a selection of new colors, so it's a good time to buy.
Do you have a favorite KHomeKit device I missed? Tell us in the comments and we can highlight it in a future HomeKit video.
