HomeKit automation to send text messages to the sensor

Cupertino, September 24, 2020

I'm exploring what I can do with HomeKit and I've messed up.

I'd like to create an automation that sends a text message when a motion sensor detects motion. I use an old iPad as my home hub and can activate the motion sensor trigger. But when I click the "Convert to shortcut" button, the shortcut options are significantly limited compared to the real shortcut application. Is there a way to get the automation shortcut that allows me to do more things? Or a way to create a shortcut with the text message function and then call it from inside the automation?

I use iOS14.
