HomeKit Bulbs vs Light Fixture

Cupertino, December 31, 2023

Hi all, I posted about this in the mega purchase thread but didn't get enough help. I'm building a HomeKit home and need to buy two lights. I have a few questions that I can't find the answers to: 1. Should I be looking at homekit compatible light fixtures (I'm worried if they explode how can they be replaced) or just standard lights and put homekit bulbs in them? 2. As for bulbs, I've had Hue in the past. I know they need a bird to function. I've now seen that Nanoleaf also offers bulbs, which don't seem to need a bridge. Is there a downside to not having a bridge? At first glance, it seems great not to have to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Happy New Year!
