Hi, I am going to buy my first house in the coming months and I intend to turn it into a smart home. The house is a “fixer-upper” and, because I’m an electrician, I’ll reconnect the house. So my question is, are there UK light switches compatible with HomeKit? The reason I’m asking you now is that I need to know if I need to connect a neutral to my light switches (I prefer to take the neutrals to the luminaires rather than the switches so that the installation is proof for the future) and It is also possible to have a 2-way switch that works with HomeKit. I wish my house would still have the use of normal light switches, as well as the ability to switch them through Siri / iPhone / iPad, so I don’t think smart light bulbs are the way to go. I looked at the Phillips Hue Switch module which, despite being a good idea, still requires me to have a smart switch AND bulbs which, given that I don’t want to change individual lights, don’t justify the cost in my opinion. Any suggestions or just advice in general about starting a smart home would be appreciated! Luck
