It seems like such a waste that so many manufacturers are writing applications for their HomeKit devices that don't do much or nothing to add value to what you can get in the Apple Home app. In case: I bought one [Eve Room](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKVBYKV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) mainly because of boredom, but also because I wanted to know the humidity in my master bedroom.
I installed the application according to the instructions in the quick start guide and all it does is give me a much worse UX for the same features that HomeKit has. This is similar to the applications I downloaded from Koogeek and Vocolink. So now I have 3 applications that unnecessarily reproduce the Apple Home application.
I at least hoped with Eve that they would offer me additional functions related to air quality or my humidity or ...
What's the incentive to waste this engineering time, defending everything you can get in the house, but worse? Could you spend your time building unique features for their devices or building new devices? Or simply save money on engineering and give yourself a small increase.
