HomeKit devices in the Unifi network - Recommendations

Cupertino, May 10, 2021

Hi all! I currently have a small HomeKit setup at home, but I'm moving soon and plan to do everything with the lighting, switches, door locks, cameras, and more. Recently, I got a Unifi Dream Machine Pro and two Nano-HD access points. I have some coverage issues with my current home compared to the old Orbi system and I'm not sure if it's because the APs aren't mounted on the ceiling yet or if there's something else I missed. Different channels, channel width, placement, etc. But I've also noticed that when I run different SSIDs, I may have trouble accessing shortcuts from HomePods to my iPhone. My question is: can someone running a large, wireless Unifi HomeKit setup give me some recommendations for settings that should be enabled, disabled, or otherwise configured? Some additional information about network configuration and HomeKit: - Currently, there is a combination of devices in the house. Use HomeBridge for some non-natively supported devices running on a networked Pi. - Philips Hue, also wired - HomePod and AppleTV as hubs, AppleTV is wired - Several SSIDs I mentioned were not separated in any way, I simply had one configured to be only 5Ghz.
