Whenever I receive a ringtone notification or open the Apple Home app on the Macbook Pro 2017 (running Catalina 10.15.6), the VPN loses its connection. I currently work from home and have to be on VPN to access my company’s resources, so this becomes extremely inconvenient, almost to the point of having to completely disable Home on Mac.
Most of my devices come from a Starling Home Hub, connecting my Google Nest devices to Homekit. I can easily reproduce the problem by ringing the bell. The notification appears, followed by my VPN saying it was trying to regain a connection.
My company uses Cisco AnyConnect as a VPN client.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can resolve this or any ideas on where I can research why my VPN might be disconnected? If you need more information about my devices or my network setup, I can provide that as well.
