I have a Hue Bridge and I found out today that it supports the Zigbee standard not only for Hue accessories. Well-reviewed TP-Link Kasa smart plugs use Zigbee, as do IKEA Tradfri smart bulbs. Hue Bridge talks to Zigbee, and the Hue app exposes accessories to the HomeKit. Does that mean I can use HomeKit to access Kasa plugs and Tradfri bulbs via the Hue Bridge? If not, why not? I am aware of the Homebridge project, which I understand allows devices that do not support HomeKit to be controlled by HomeKit. But if Zigbee is a standard and the Hue app talks to HomeKit, then I'd assume something like Homebridge shouldn't be necessary, right?
