In a video posted on YouTube, the next Apple technology, HomeKit Secure Video, has been exposed and shows what the artificial intelligence of the software will signal to the user.
Although the moment when the announced HomeKit Secure Video feature arrives on iOS 13 is not yet clear, it seems that the tests are already quite advanced. A video was uploaded to YouTube and would have been captured from an iPad in an Apple Store.
Selected video clips include the passage and departure of a car twice, a dog fetching a ball in the driveway and a delivery.
HomeKit Hero note that the video does not reveal which camera is used for the demonstration captured by the user.
The Netatmo logo was featured at the annual WWDC alongside Eufy and Logitech as launch partners for HomeKit Secure Video. The new feature will allow HomeKit security cameras to encrypt video locally and store it on Apple's iCloud servers, where it's out of range.
Netatmo revealed that the next Smart Video doorbell will support HomeKit Secure Video when it launches later this year and that the smart indoor camera and smart outdoor camera will support this feature in the form of a free automatic update firmware soon after.
Users have been asking for this feature for some time. Currently, they have to rely on third party servers to store their videos that are not necessarily as secure - or private - as those of Apple.
Apple iCloud Storage Storage
Apple will retain up to ten days of recordings in iCloud for a camera if it is subscribed to the iCloud storage plan of 200 GB and will store up to ten days of recordings for five cameras if that last is on the 2 TB iCloud storage plan. HomeKit Secure Video records will not be counted in your storage capacity. The 2 TB plan allows users to earn $ 9.99 per month, which is advantageous over third-party storage plans. ICloud also has many more features for backup outside of video storage.
WWDC 2019 also announced support for HomeKit routers, which will be supported by Linksys and Eero at first.
