Homekit Secure Video for (almost) any RTSP compatible camera

Cupertino, January 16, 2022

Step 1: Rotate a [Homebridge](https://github.com/homebridge/homebridge) instance on a backup computer or Raspberry Pi. I'd recommend doing this anyway, as it adds unofficial support for a bunch of uncertified accessories. Step 2: Upgrade Homebridge [1.4.0-beta 4](https://github.com/homebridge/homebridge/wiki/Homebridge-Beta-Testing). This adds preliminary support for HSV at Homebridge. Step 3: Install [Camera.ui](https://github.com/seydx/homebridge-camera-ui) plugin for Homebridge. Version 5.0.5 adds HSV support for cameras. Step 4: Set up your RTSP-capable cameras in your Homebridge Camera.ui configuration. You will need the RTSP streaming link for each of your cameras and I would suggest setting them up as unbridge for optimal performance. Make sure you enable HSV support in the configuration and I had to use the video copying codec to get recordings. Step 5: Add each room to the Home app using the Homebridge login code. Step 6: HSV! I have 5 Unifi cameras running on the old Unifi Video platform and each integrates seamlessly into HSV - full support for person / animal / packet detection, motion based alerts, video recording, etc. I'm not affiliated with any projects, but if it works for you, consider giving each of the developers a few bucks. This has been a lot of work for them in recent months. ** Edit **: Folks, I'm not the developer - I can't help you fix the issues. I'm just an end user who wanted to inform the community about this plugin. I would go to Github if you have any problems.
