HomeKit suddenly didn't recognize that people were home.

Cupertino, January 30, 2024

Hi everyone, As of last night my "nobody's home" automations are going off every two hours, even when people are home. i.e. the lights go out, the oven thermostat is set to a lower temperature, the homepods stop working, etc. This morning my alarm did not disarm automatically (set to disarm at 6:00 am if someone is home). I tried disconnecting the homepod mini that was acting as a hub at the time. It didn't solve the problem. I also disconnected the next homepod that became a hub - so right now I'm seeing the same behavior with 3 different homepods set as hubs. Plus, it's not just my automations. I have my door locks set to provide notifications (door locked, door unlocked) only when no one is home. Both locks send notifications when I lock/unlock the door. This started happening last night (3 people home) and when it happened 4 times today, 2 people were home. The Find Me app recognizes that my phone is at home. And also that my wife's phone is at home too. All homepods/minis are on 17.3. Any ideas on what else I can try? Edit: Tried disconnecting all my homepods so my ATV was forced to be the hub. I'm still getting the door lock/unlock notifications. I should also note that other than not recognizing that someone is home, my other automations work fine, as does manual control (via the home app) of a specific device. Edit 2: I will also note that I have some automations that trigger when my son leaves home, they successfully triggered when he left home about 1.5 hours ago. So, it means to recognize when someone leaves home, but at the same time not to recognize that they were home. I'm at a loss.
