HomeKit vs Vendors’ Apps?

Cupertino, October 13, 2020

Do you guys also install vendor’s app for your devices compatible with HomeKit?

I decided to delete them all and just use HomeKit to control mine - August, ecobee, Philips, and etc.

Logitech Circle 2 when allowed compatibility with HomeKit stopped supporting their cams with their own apps. I can see firmware updates get pushed via HomeKit automatically.

I also prefer to use my storage for more important things! Not to mention, less tracking as each and every one of these apps ask permission to follow me around!
