After coming through a period of just trouble, especially since I struggled to set up and update some of my HomePods, HomeKit ran smoothly after I did a full wipe in January. However, for several days, the situation of the hub is everywhere. I notice that the active hub sometimes changes every hour, or more often, and that it seems that it prefers to choose a HomePod as the hub, instead of the Apple TV that it tended to choose in the past. My problem is that if a HomePod is the home hub, HomeKit responds very, very slowly to some commands, especially to the remote control. If I plug in all the HomePods and force HomeKit to choose an Apple TV 4K (wired) as the hub, everything is instantaneous again. But after a while, he decides that a HomePod should be the centerpiece. It's probably somewhere in my wifi, but I followed all the best practices for my wifi setup (Fritzbox 7590 mesh), so apart from switching to a new setup, I don't know what to do to improve it. It was mentioned earlier, but it would be very, very nice if Apple allows us to choose a default hub or, at least, let HomeKit give priority to wired hubs over Wifi. Oh and for some reason one of the HomePods Mini has decided to reset and is now stuck on setup for a few hours already ... Why did I get into this thing ...
