HomePod Mini as an outdoor sensor?

Cupertino, March 1, 2024

We are currently in the process of converting our mixed protocol smart home devices to HomeKit. Part of that process involves replacing some Echo devices with HomePods. I currently have a first generation Echo Dot out in the shed, mostly for music. I wonder if I replace it with a HomePod Mini, will the internal temp sensor work well enough to be a reliable outdoor temp sensor for automations? I know Apple says they are "optimized" for temperatures between 59F and 86F, but do they still work outside of that range? I live in Kentucky so we see temperatures from 0F or colder to 105F at times.
