HomePod only appears as a guest in the Home app - Please help!

Cupertino, September 17, 2019

I feel like there's an easy answer to this, but I can't understand it for myself. Right now I'm trying to get a simple routine set up in homekit. However, my AppleTV shows up in the living room in “My Home”, but the HomePod only appears in the My Home (Guest) area.

I bought the HomePod for my husband for Christmas, who originally set it up under his iCloud and he gave me guest access. I'm half the couple playing around with the technology at home trying to get these things to talk to each other. I was able to log out of his iCloud account on HomePod and log into mine, but the pod still only appears in "guest."

What I'm trying to accomplish is this: Our main entertainment components in the living area are all organized and controlled by the Logitech harmony hub, and I know the incompatibility with the homekit, so I went ahead and downloaded yonomie successfully and can easily control the flow and shut down the sequence to watch TV using Siri on my iPhone and iPad (by making the home button long press and talk). When I say “hey Siri” to send HomePod, it prompts me to configure automation in homekit.

How do I get the HomePod to recognize what I created in yonomy and successfully created the Siri shortcut for on my phone / iPad? Should my husband and I delete the HomePod from each of our home apps and just have me "rediscover" it as an initial setup? I would very much like to start using HomePod for more automation purposes, but I feel stuck here.
