I see so many people throwing hundreds of dollars on dozens of Hue bulbs from this subhomekit.blog. I can understand the use of light bulbs in things like lamps, but what is the huge benefit of replacing the primary electric lights that the switch controls with them?
Obviously, the price is a negation factor for me, but I can't even imagine that I have friends / family and I don't have to constantly explain not to use the wall switches to control the lights. Isn't that a problem with someone else?
As for the price, only one scenario - my kitchen has two bodies with three bulbs each. I have ordinary LED bulbs there that cost me around $ 10, then I introduced a $ 25 smart switch for a total cost of $ 35. The same configuration would cost at least $ 130 to get six Hue bulbs and a hub.
What's the point of spending four times the money?
