We are moving into a new home this week and intend to set up my first home automation. We are an Apple family, so we intend to use HomeKit. Here's what we plan: Nest with thermostat Nest Ring with bell Ring with camera (yard) Lutron adjustment switches / fan controls Shade lights outside And I'm still planning the rest, but this is my starting point To connect Nest and Ring, I plan to get a prebuilt HOOBS that will connect. However, because of my cable modem, I look into installing a wireless network system like Eero in the house to make sure I have good wifi coverage. My question is (before I start buying equipment), if my smart devices work outside the Eero network, HOOBS will be accessible if connected to the router (this is a cable modem with a 4-port router and built-in wireless, although WiFi will be disabled). Since they will be on different networks, I would assume that HOOBS would not be available. Should I know any other suggestions or better suggestions? Thanks for any feedback.
