How can I make my brothers' kitchen lights smart?

Cupertino, January 30, 2021

Hey, my brother recently bought an apartment with a new kitchen. All products are from IKEA. I'm trying to get him interested in building his smart home. He does not see the advantages. I really want to show him a way to make his strip lights under the counter smart. It has a small button attached to the end of wires that hangs between the end of a counter and the wall. Click it once for 50% brightness, twice for 100% brightness, three times for 50%, fourth for off. Controls existing spotlights and strip lights in kitchen units. Again, everything seems to be IKEA products. I think I can replace the spotlights with smart bulbs, but I don't really see a convenient way to change the LED strips. I would prefer to find a solution to keep the existing wiring and automate them so that they have a start / stop function. Any idea?
