How does Apple continue to make HomeKit less reliable?

Cupertino, March 12, 2024

I have three electric heaters in the house. Each has an Eve smart plug. Each has been used for years, and being winter, it becomes common - almost daily use. The one in my office for years is "hey siri turn on the heater" and it comes on. It's not rocket science. For about a week now - when I say "hey siri turn on the heat" to the homepod in my office where the switch is the response I get now is "ok what zone?" and a list of zones in my house. It works fine in the app. I have to manually press the button or open the app on my phone to turn on my heater. If I say "turn on the desk" or "turn off the desk" - then it turns on and off, along with the lights, as expected. The other heaters (called "fire" and "fireplace" in other rooms as well) work very well. I have no idea why, but it's frustrating, pointless, and immediately fails the wife acceptance test :/
