How is HomeBridge's Zigbee integration?

Cupertino, February 28, 2024

After getting mad with my meross wifi smart switches, I went crazy with inovelli switches all over my house (zigbee) and also had to set up HA and the zigbee hub. Not exactly intuitive. ZHA was having issues, but after some tinkering I got everything working well enough with zigbee2mqtt and got through HK. However, I am quite unhappy with ZHA and now Zigbee2mqtt and HA in general. The UI *is* crappy and borderline unusable. Everything related to getting/setting parameters is non-compliant. Parameter labels are trimmed. There are slider controls that are difficult to set. Lots of seemingly useless tabs and duplicate views. Exposing new things via HK requires annoying UI steps. Now I wonder if Zigbee support via Homebridge is good? I don't expect unlimited configurability, but I would like a more native HomeKit and less complicated web UI for my non-native HK devices. I know that when I start this process I will quickly reach a point of no return (without significant setup effort). Thanks
