How safe are Shelley homekit switches?

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

I just renovated the home network with an Ubiquity UDMPro router and unified access points. Previously I just had a single network (in the UK, BT FTTP with a BT router) all over it and now I wonder if I should put IoT devices on a vlan, because I have the option with the new router. I have a few Hue lights and a Hue hub, with the remote access option turned off. I have a few Meross homekit switches and some Shelley switches flashed for the homekit. Apart from that, there are the usual laptops, computers, AppleTV and Apple iPhones. From what I've read, homekit things don't work well in different releases, so I'm thinking of keeping them all in one chain, but I'm wondering about the possible security implications. I use homekit because the security is much better than most other IoT devices, but I don't know enough about the hardware of these special switches to know if I should be worried. Thanks.
