How to temporarily disable devices from the homekit/home app

Cupertino, February 1, 2024

Is it possible to temporarily disable a HomeKit device? Use case: I have quite a few HomeKit smart plugs that are only used around the holidays (think Halloween/Christmas lighting). When I disconnect these devices, HomeKit shows them as unresponsive and shows them at the top because of the error. I want to disable the device to remove error warnings until needed/reconnected again. I don't want to delete them though. This would require backing up their settings in HomeKit and rebuilding the automations/scenes they were part of. I hope there is a solution to this that I'm not seeing. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
