Hue: Materia is currently unavailable (error)

Cupertino, January 11, 2024

So this morning we woke up early and my wife said to the HomePod "Hey Siri, Good Morning" which did a little and the HomePod responded that many devices didn't respond. He returned to the bedroom and said "Siri isn't playing the 'Good Morning' scene", which prompted the nearest HomePod to respond with "Now playing 'Good Morning' by Kanye West". Which was hilarious. But I work from home and started researching the issue. Every device works fine, except Hue, all Hue lights are unresponsive. Rarely, but it has happened before, so I restarted the hub (high end) and still nothing. I opened the app and saw that both the Matter and HomeKit integrations were active. I went back to the Home app and all my lights doubled. No big deal, I switched to Matter in October and haven't had any issues since, I deleted the HomeKit integration and got the correct number of lights but I still can't interact with them. So I deleted the Matter integration without looking forward to adding 30+ lights back. I tried to add it back and got an error "Item is unavailable at this time". OK, so I thought there was a firmware update causing a problem (since Matter doesn't depend on any cloud servers), so I added the Hue integration as a standard HomeKit integration and got the same error: "Matter is unavailable At this point" . I can see that Google autocompletes the error, but no relevant results appear. Thoughts? Why would Hue suddenly drop like this? How could Matter be "unavailable" when it's a local service that many other devices use?
