Im 19 and i live with my parents, we have Philips Hue and Apple TV's 3 rooms, all connected to the HomeKit app. The Apple TV in the living room and entertainment room is connected to HomeKit, since they're logged onto my fathers account.
But when i went and upgraded the Apple TV in my room to a the new 4K one with Siri Remote, i couldn't get it into HomeKit. Wanna know why? Simply because since i use my own account on my Apple TV, it creates a HomeKit home of it's own linked to my account.
I tried adding my fathers account to my Apple TV thinking i could just add it from his account and still use mine as main account. But no, only the standard/main user can add the Apple TV to HomeKit.
Does anyone have any solutions except making his account the main? If not, then this is just stupid, absolutely unnecessary and a dick move by Apple...
