I finally managed to update my LG OLED E8 to add native HomeKit support and wow ... what a joke

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

I've been using Homebridge for about a year now and one of the plugins I use adds HomeKit support to the two LG TVs that haven't reduced LG's native support until recently. It was flawless and even added a number of other options that are not natively supported (such as turning off the screen, choosing the audio source, etc.). Finally, I updated my E8 tonight with the latest firmware that added native HomeKit support and I already see "unanswered" warnings in the home app. I've never seen this once a year from the Homebridge plugin. All this is waiting to be disappointed.
