I need help: I would like to create an automation that starts a fake status switch when an accessory is controlled … BUT I only want the switch to start if the accessory is controlled manually. I have an automation configuration for my fans that adjusts the fan speed to the temperature. I would like to create a manual change to stop the automation from working. My thought was to have a state switch called manually and if it was ON, the automation would not work. It’s easy. What I want to do is turn on that switch when the speed can be adjusted manually by a user. Again, also easy, but I don’t want the automation-based fan speed change to activate the manual switch, otherwise the automation will always turn off. Thoughts?
