Initially this would not work and I only got a second registration in the HomeKit, as well as frequent disconnections and "camera does not respond" issues. After I released the 2.1.2.9h beta firmware at home (which was a bit annoying as it takes 24-48 hours for the firmware to be pushed to the device), I can add the cameras to the HomeKit without even using the Eufy app and everything works as intended, recordings and all that. I also have WAN OUT locked with a firewall rule in Unifi Security Gateway and everything works perfectly.
A note for the Eufy app ... if you have it installed, it will eventually add the device to your Eufy account once you open the eufy app, IF you have "Home Data" enabled in your iOS settings, under "eufy Security". setting, the camera will only be added to HomeKit and will stay away from Eufy.I logged in to my eufy account to make sure it wasn't somehow added to it and there was nothing to see there.
The only thing I've noticed is that the light on the front of the home base is now red, probably because it can't call home at all. Not something that bothers me, because it works perfectly differently!
