so this feature would allow Homekit to set Apple TV to turn on when power is detected through the smart plug of the TV and vice versa, connecting the power state between them, fully automating older TVs without HDMI-CEC and without the need constantly click on the widget in my control center every time I want to turn on Apple TV and it is part of the TV screen. Finally, clicking on the Apple Remote would again become a one-step process for people with older HDTVs who don’t have HDMI-check
for it to really work, you should designate the smart plug as an Apple TV-specific display for the software to link to their power status. It is also important to note that this would not work on older TVs that are not capable of leaving a smart plug to switch the power status if such devices exist.
Would this feature be useful for other homekit users as well?
maybe I’m the only one without a hdmi check who experiences this, but it seems like it’s such a simple solution that I wish I could do in home automation in the shortcut app, but unfortunately it doesn’t currently allow this level of smart precision for the house
