Ideas for indoor / outdoor cats?

Cupertino, November 15, 2020

I have a cat who spends his time indoors and outdoors with two others who are just indoors.

I came up with some ideas on how to get notifications if the outside guy is at the back door so we can let him in when he's there.

We have an HKSV camera outside facing the back door, and the animal notifications have been very reliable, but I can't find a way to send us notifications only when he sees an animal.

I also looked to install a big button that could touch out or NFC tags, but I don't know if they would work very well. Are there pressure sensitive Homekit pads available?

Anyway, we're looking for ideas on how to make it easier to leave our guy outdoors when he's ready, without letting those inside escape. Thanks!
