I'm stuck being able to add a device. Unique situation of university housing.

So right now I live in off-campus housing, so that means the network has already been set up blah blah. I had a single HomeKit (meross) activated light strip that works for about a week. Then it stopped working, so I removed it and tried to connect it again, but now it says I need to be connected to a 2.4 GHz network to add it again. But I can't configure the network to do this because it's managed by the case. Can I do something?
