Installed iSmartGate Lite for Gate, not a bad HomeKit device at all

Cupertino, October 12, 2019

Today I installed iSmartGate Lite for Gate. I have a roller shutter door for my garage and the gate setting was required instead of the other.

I found the setup to be fairly simple and ready within minutes. Although my garage controller is not listed on the compatibility page, all that is needed is a lead for P.P. and one for COM, and it worked like a charm. Even Siri integration works fine. It is also very quick to open and close through the HomeKit or iSmartGate app.

I was unsure how well this would work or whether it would work at all. The unit was like $ 140, so it wasn't cheap, but I'm happy (so far) with the results. The only concern I have is that the sensor might fall off the roller door because the only way I could fix it was with the Gorilla double sided tape. Hopefully Gorilla lives up to its name and holds that thing firm! :)
