Apple today released iOS 13 for iPhone and watchOS 6 for Apple Watch. You can view our roundups for an overview of the new features you can start using right now. However, there is still much to come as Apple spreads the calendar of software updates this year.

There are already more features for the previewed iPhone and full updates of the operating system over the next few months. This is what Apple has announced so far.

iOS 13.1 and beyond

Apple will release iOS 13.1 on September 24th. This update will include many bugfixes and reliability changes to resolve unresolved issues in iOS 13.0. It will also bring several new features for iPhone users, including Share ETA in Apple Maps, volume adjustments, new animated icons in the Home application and automated shortcuts.

Apple has announced that HomeKit Secure Video, the feature to automatically record video recordings of your HomeKit cameras on your iCloud storage, should arrive before the end of the year. Other iOS features coming later this year include screen time limits for individual contacts, announcement messages with Siri, and iCloud folder sharing. Advanced neural network photography algorithms called "Deep Fusion" will also come as an exclusive feature for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.

iPadOS

Apple has split the iOS update for iPad into a separate operating system system called "iPadOS" this year. iPadOS brings upgrades to the Files application, new multitasking features such as Slide Over Expose, new productivity gestures for text editing, and more. It also includes all the features of the iPhone iOS 13, such as dark mode and the new Reminders application.

Apple has announced that the iPadOS will be available from September 24th. We think that it will really be the iPadOS 13.1. This means that all Apple Arcade games will also be available on iPad that day.

tvOS 13

Apple TV will receive the major update of its software for the year at the end of the month on September 30th. This update will help prepare the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K device installation base for the launch of Apple TV + on November 1st.

The update also includes a redesigned home screen in which the top shelf becomes a full screen widescreen background, for applications like Music, Television and Photos. tvOS 13 also includes several user accounts so that Up Next recommendations and queues can be separated for all people at home. You can change the user through the new Control Center sidebar. tvOS 13 also includes an Apple Arcade app, which lets you play all the new exclusive games on the TV. Like on iOS, the new software update will allow you to pair Xbox and PlayStation controllers on your Apple TV, if you do not have MFi controllers at hand.

macOS Catalina

macOS Catalina is the next major update to Apple's desktop operating system. The Mac will benefit from several new features, including separate applications for music, television and podcasts, as Catalina says goodbye to the iTunes application. The Mac also receives redefined apps Photos, Reminders and Find My App, as they appear on iOS.

Catalina also brings screen time to MacBook, Mac mini, iMac and Mac Pro for the first time. There is also a new feature called Sidecar, which allows you to use your iPad as a secondary screen for the Mac desktop. Apple has not announced the release of macOS Catalina, except to promise its release in October.

AccueilPod

Apple's smart speaker, the HomePod, will also spark the bombing later this year with several new features. First of all, the HomePod will be able to recognize multiple voices and offer personalized answers to the requests of each user at home.

The HomePod will also be able to use a new music transfer experience and a white noise feature called Ambient Sounds will be available soon. Apple has not committed to a date these features will happen, except this year. The only new HomePod feature that has been set is the addition of 100,000 radio stations ... which will be live on or before September 30th.

Enjoy all that is new in iOS 13 and watchOS 6, but remember there are many more to come. tvOS 13, iPadOS and iOS 13.1 are no more than a few days away.
