iOS 15 Breaks HomeKit

Cupertino, October 5, 2021

I am beyond frustrated with HomeKit after iOS 15 update. Apple publicly presents themselves as wanting to expand HomeKit and become a leader; however, it is so broken in iOS 15.

1) HKSV has had so many issues, I won’t list them here because there has been multiple threads on connectivity and usage issues.

2) When I set my Abode alarm to “Away”, I am given 30 seconds to exit. However, during the exit delay, Apple HomeKit sends me an alert saying my alarm was triggered due to the front door being opened. This is despite the delay countdown. This did not occur in iOS 14.

3) I have a “No Response” notification but the item that is listed as “No Response” has been removed from HomeKit since I no longer use it. I cannot find a way to remove this notification within the Home app despite the product not even being listed.
