iPhone refuses to connect to ecobee or iHome devices after 13.1.2

Cupertino, October 10, 2019

I'm so frustrated right now.

Ever since I updated to 13.1.2, my ecobee4 and iHome devices have been “No Answer” through HomeKit. However, I could still control them through their respective apps.

After troubleshooting for about an hour, I decided to reset both factories and set them as new.

Now I can't finish the installation process on one of these through my HomeKit. I receive an "An unexpected error has occurred" for both. I can still control them through their own apps.

Apple Support has been less than helpful; and I'm still waiting for a response from both ecobee and iHome.

Has anyone had these problems and found a way to solve them?
