iPhone suppliers aiming to resume production by February 10 despite coronavirus outbreak

Apple's leading supplier Foxconn plans to resume large-scale production in China on February 10, despite being ordered to "close almost all" of production following a deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Foxconn, among other key vendors Quanta Computer Inc., Inventec Corp and LG Display Co., also said they would return to work next week when Apple will reopen mainland China retail stores and corporate offices after being closed to recommendations from health care professionals.

It has been reported that the outbreak has a "small impact" on iPhone production, amid rumors that Apple will unveil a new "new 9" iPhone at low costs next month., although a prolonged closure of factories could lead to "big" problems, he said Reuters.

Today's report from Bloomberg Foxconn hopes to be able to restart installations throughout China in the near future.

Hon Hai, the leading US-based manufacturer of Foxconn, said on Tuesday it expects to be able to restart its Chinese facility in due time, according to a text message sent to Bloomberg News. Suppliers such as Quanta Computer Inc., Inventec Corp and LG Display Co. also said they will return to work next week in China.
